The 1929 book ‘Life’ published by the Watch Tower is  a sample of Watch Tower teaching prior to 1931 regarding natural Israel:

God promised to restore Palestine to the Jews.

On page #54 of the Watch Tower book ‘Life’ published in 1929 the statement is made, “God promised to restore Palistine to the Jews.  The rebuilding of Palistine is now beginning and is well under way.  This is being done clearly in fulfilment of prophesy uttered as promises from Jehovah.” On page #108 in the book ‘Life’ shown below we read ” Is Israel cast off for ever?  The answer is, No, indeed!  On page #109 “That will mark the time when the favor of God may be expected to return to Israel.”

The Watch Tower book ‘Life’ published in 1929  page #120…”First we shall consider the certainty of the promises that Israel shall be returned to Palestine.”

...certainty of the promises that Israel shall be returned to Palestine.

…certainty of the promises that Israel shall be returned to Palestine.

We know where Judge Rutherford, the second president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, got the name ‘Jehovah’s Witnnesses, Isaiah 43:10. He gave the International Bible Students this new name in 1931 but God was calling the natural Isrealites His witnesses in Isaiah.  The Bible Students and the Jews could not both be called Jehovah’s witnesses!  Rutherford had to think fast.  He immediately began teaching exactly the oposite of what he had been teaching about natural Israel! In the 1946 Watch Tower publication ‘Let God be True’ pages 208-209 we read ” The facts and prophecies prove that the natural Jews will never again be a chosen regathered people.”  See the photo of pages 208 & 209 below.
